Each Isaro Tray is a true work of art, meticulously handcrafted by Rwandan artisans using a time-honored technique passed down through generations. The tray is made from natural sweet grass and sisal, two sustainable materials that reflect both the beauty of Rwanda’s landscapes and its rich cultural heritage.

The inner coil of the tray is made from sweet grass, giving it structure and durability, while the outer layer is woven from strands of sisal harvested from the agave plant. After being carefully stripped, the sisal is dyed in vibrant colors, which are then skillfully stitched to create stunning patterns. Every thread on this tray represents a stitch, a testament to the artisan’s attention to detail.

Depending on the size, shape, and complexity of the design, each tray takes anywhere from 3 to 5 days to complete, making it a unique, handmade treasure. Plus, it comes with a sewn-in hanger on the back, so you can easily display it on your wall, turning your space into a gallery of Rwandan artistry.
